General Characteristics Technical Specifications
Pre-war Colt Super .38 Early example (1929) with box.
Pre-war Colt Super .38 Factory Engraved Early example (1929) with factory engraving and double carved ivory grips in eagle pattern.
Pre-war Colt Super .38 Factory Engraved Pistol is factory "A" engraved with nickel finish and mother of pearl grips. (1930)
Pre-war Colt Super .38 1930 vintage pistol in excellent condition.
Pre-war Colt Super .38 Pistol is factory roll marked T&W.A. No. 31 on the left side of frame.
Pre-war Colt Super .38 Pistol is factory roll marked T&W.A. No. 32 on the left side of frame.
Pre-war Colt Super .38 Pistol is in new condition in the original box with instructions.  Manufactured in 1939-40, this example is equipped with the Swartz Safety.
WWII Colt Super .38 Serial number 35475. Pistol is equipped with the Swartz Safety and was shipped to the Office of the Chief of Ordnance, Technical Division, Washington, D.C.
WWII Colt Super .38 Serial number 36183. Pistol is equipped with the Swartz Safety and is painted red on the top of the slide.
U.S. Military Contract Super .38
(First Shipment)
Serial number 36797, one of 24 shipped to Remington Arms Co.  Pistol is equipped with the Swartz Safety.  G.H.D. and Ordnance marked.
U.S. Military Contract Super .38
(Second Shipment)
Serial number 37255, one of 376 shipped to Fowler Building, Rosslyn, VA for the OSS. Pistol is equipped with the Swartz Safety. G.H.D. and Ordnance marked.
Pre-War/Post-War Colt Super .38 Serial number 36864.  Pistol is milled for Swartz Safety, but parts are not installed.
